One of this blog's regular visitors (ok, 4 times in the last 9 days, at least) is from Beverly Hills, but the Statcounter doesn't say anything about this person, not even what pages he/she is visiting!
I have to admit, I'm dying of curiosity.
If you'd like to keep me alive, you could leave me a comment (even anonymously) or send me an email. That way, I can continue living (something that I'm actually quite enjoying, believe it or not) and I will no longer be wondering what swanky Beverly Hills celebrity is actually checking out my words.
Is this the curse of the statcounter on a blog? It gives by telling you what you're traffic's like, but takes away by not being able to know who they are?
I love it when I see somebody stumble upon one of my one-hit wonders posts and then see that they went through all of them over a 45 minute period. It gives me that great feeling to know that they're getting some enjoyment out of something I wrote (or maybe just the videos, I don't know). They must be having some fun, or they wouldn't spend 45 minutes with it, would they?
I always wonder just who that person is, especially if they're not American. What are they thinking? Which one was their favourite? Are they happy they discovered this post?
I guess too much curiosity isn't necessarily good for you. I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to browse anonymously or anything. Of course you should be able to. I am just nosy. That, and I love the idea of community, and I include my readers in that. So while I know I will never know all of my readers (all 10 of you, right?), that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to know you!
Still, the benefits of the statcounter outweigh the negatives for me. I just have to grin and bear it, hoping that curiosity doesn't kill this cat.
